We’re making a print journal dedicated to stories of growing up in hair salons and seeking out the stories of children— young and old. If you’ve been raised around hair, tell us about it!
Hair salons are community and care spaces and children of hairdressers have been a part of them since day one. We’ll honor the parents who’ve raised children while working as hairstylists, through the eyes of the children themselves. We hope to remember, and archive the stories of children who are currently or were at one point raised around hair. Think of parent(s) as hairdressers, Salons as second homes, beauty workers as extended family… or whatever comes to memory!
